Salvaging Creativity

We are a collaborative multi-media design-fabrication entity formed in 2005 by Patrick Sells and Casey Tyrrell.

We have grown from a 140 SF silo on a farm in Whitehall, MD into a 26,000 SF repurposed historic factory building in York, PA.  A large portion of our time since then has been devoted to renovation of this building to support a growing local artisan community.

What started as a dream to make interesting and beautiful alternatives to mass-produced consumer-grade items has evolved into a bridging of the not-too-distant industrial past with the contemporary shift back to localized economies.

Our aesthetic vision is rooted in a fascination with materials “not too far derived from nature” that are in the decay arc of their life-cycle.

The idea is to re-invent anything in the built environment as a blend of salvaged human and natural materials.  There’s more philosophy behind it, but we’ll keep it simple here.  Salvage metals, stone, concrete, wood and glass are used to create-
